After 38-1/2 years surveying for the City of San Mateo Engineering Department, the loss of my first wife and some good friends (none of which used their last breath to say "I wish I had spent more time at work"), I hung up my survey belt and picked up my camera. My wife, Sue, and I have taken the opportunity to travel, linking her birding interest with my photography and also to just enjoy life.
I enjoy all types of photography, favorites being Nature and Grandchildren.
I compete at Millbrae Camera Club and Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C). I have also competed and won awards at the San Mateo County Fair (Artist of the Year 2006), the 2005 Sierra Club Yodeler Photo Exhibit (image used on their Reception Invitation Card ), and PhotoClave competition.

I have been a Canon user since 1968, so I continue to use Canon. I started with a Canon FT, progressed through the F1 systems and then to the EOS system and finally to Digital. At present I use the Canon 1D Mark III, 5D Mark III and the 7D Mark II along with an array of lenses from 8mm to 500mm.
Where as I used to be in the darkoom for hours, I now do all of my processing on the computer using PhotoShop CC and a few other programs. I print using an Epson Stylis Pro 4900. Most all of my printing is done on paper by Breathing Color using Epson archival inks.
When I first started competing at Camera Club, I found it to be fairly expensive to have anything matted for competition. I decided to go ahead and get my business license and my resale license and make a business out of it., therefore I am a one person photography, matting and framing business located in Burlingame, California. By working out of my small studio, I can keep my costs down and pass the savings along to my clients. I guarantee my work for as long as you own it. If something happens that was the result of my work, I will repair or replace it free. There are enough people out there willing to take advantage of you and I do not care to be one of them. The two people that need to be satisfied are of course, you and equally if not more importantly, me.
I do not advertise other than this website at this time. Most of my work is from recommendations by previous clients. All framiing is custom made to your specifications. I also sell my own images either fully framed or matted to standard frame sizes. In addition to images, I also sell signed sets of "Greeting Cards". Please contact me for quotes. Most of my images are available for preview on SmugMug. Please click on "See More Images" to view these images.
